The Terra Carta serves as the guiding mandate for the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI).

The Terra Carta Supporters are a coalition of public and private organizations that have confirmed their support of the Terra Carta principles. These supporters agree to play their part in putting nature, people, and the planet at the center of their organization’s value creation. The Terra Carta Supporters Programme is a way for organizations to recognize their support of the Terra Carta mandate. The SMI utilizes the Ten Articles as guiding principles to inform their sustainability actions and agendas.
