East Cheshire Hospice’s ‘The Proseal Wing’, is celebrating its first anniversary, following a successful year supporting patients through end-of-life care.

The tray sealing company contributed £1 million towards the site extension in 2021, which acts as a ‘Coordinated Care Hub’ for the charity’s ‘Hospice @Home’ service, providing specialist medical treatment and holistic care in the homes of local people coping with life limiting illnesses.

The hub was founded to improve the organisation and communication between healthcare agencies, standardising care of patients. Since its opening, the two-storey building is now a base for 22 highly trained palliative care staff, who provide support to patients and their families 24 hours, 365 days a year.

“The feedback we have received from this new service has been truly outstanding and has been proven to reduce anxiety and stress for patients and for their families and carers, during such difficult times,” said Hospice @Home Manager Tess Cleaver.

“In just one year, the Coordinated Care Hub has made a seismic change to the way we care for our local community and on behalf of everyone at East Cheshire Hospice I would like to once again thank the employees of Proseal UK for their extremely generous donation.”

The Hub is transforming palliative care across East Cheshire, serving the communities of Macclesfield, Buxton, Congleton, High Legh, High Peak, Knutsford, Poynton, Wilmslow and the surrounding areas.
